Menstrual Disorders

Menstruation can be abnormal in women who have an autoimmune disease. Those types of symptoms are generally caused by Hashimoto's disease, which is  hormone-related. In case of such issues, thyroid examination should be done for women. In addition to these, diabetes can also lead to these disorders, especially if the disease is poorly controlled.

Lupus erythematosus can also cause women to have long, heavy menstrual bleeding, periods that are very far apart, or no periods at all. Autoimmune diseases are another cause of menstrual disorders leading to complications in pregnancy.
